Traces of Companion and Memory, August 22-26
Traces of Companion and Memory is an art exhibition showcasing artwork produced by immigrant parents and their teens during a four-session workshop facilitated by the art educator Rodrigo Hernandez. Fifteen immigrant families from Afghanistan, Bhutan, Colombia, Cuba and Syria made drawings to express their view of themselves and their communities, the things they care about and their dreams. Another Successful Potluck Event! The SupperNOVA multi-cultural potluck on April 2 united local and newcomer community members for another successful welcoming event. There were nearly 300 community members in attendance. Some were newcomers representing many countries, and some were Canadian-born representing many neighborhoods.
