Career Pathway Loan Project

The Career Pathway Loan Fund is a community–based partnership to provide support services for Internationally Trained Workers to overcome financial barriers in the foreign credential recognition process, and to assist them in their return to work in their occupational field, or another related field.

Who is eligible? To apply you must:

  • Be a Permanent Resident or immigrant Canadian citizen
  • Be registered with an employment specialist at ISIS
  • Be a Resident of Nova Scotia
  • Have received training/certification outside of Canada
  • Have credentials accredited
  • Not have an un-discharged bankruptcy
  • Agree to repay the loan with interest
  • Have the required English skills to complete an employment plan
  • Have a Return to Work Action Plan

Loan may pay for:

  • Professional registration fees
  • Licensing and examination fees
  • Training / tuition fees
  • Living expenses (during exams or a specific training)
  • Travel and accommodation expenses
  • Work tools
