Settlement Counselling
After you have registered with an intake worker, they may suggest you meet with a Settlement Counsellor.
Your Settlement Counsellor will provide support for:
- banking and budgeting
- community supports and programs (examples: family resource centers, libraries, YMCA, recreation facilities)
- federal and provincial services and programs (examples: Child Tax Benefit, Nova Scotia Health Card, Income Assistance)
- health
- housing
- life in Canada (laws, rights, and responsibilities)
- school systems
- stress and culture shock
To access ISIS Settlement Services you must first go through intake and register as an ISIS client.
